About BobCommander

A better workspace for the files people actually manage.

BobCommander is a modern Windows file manager built around a simple belief: powerful file work should be direct, inspectable, and available to everyone without a paywall or an account.

Totally free. No registration, trial expiry, subscription, payment details, or advertising requirement.

The product principle

Make complex work clear.

File transfers, synchronization, archives, and remote locations can have consequences. BobCommander keeps the source and destination in view, previews actions where appropriate, asks before conflicts, and retains durable-operation information for recovery.

Efficient by default

Dual panes, function-key actions, tabs, quick filtering, and command-driven tools reduce repetitive navigation without making mouse workflows second class.

Open about trust

Stable releases are published with signed metadata and SHA-256 checksums. Download and verification information stays available for anyone to inspect.

Respectful by design

The application does not require a service account. Anonymous usage reporting is optional and off by default; details are published in the privacy notice.

Built for Windows

Familiar foundations, current engineering.

BobCommander combines a keyboard-first commander workflow with the Windows Shell, modern accessibility and theme support, isolated extension boundaries, and a companion CLI for automation.
